Nigeria’s position in FIFA ranking improves





After months of persistent slide on FIFA’s monthly ranking, Nigeria has moved up on FIFA’s ranking.


According to FIFA’s latest ranking for the month of June, the Super Eagles moved up by three places to the 60th spot, with 520 points.
The rise is coming after last week’s 1-0 victory over Namibia during the World Cup qualifiers, played in Calabar.


Reps accuse Justice Minister of draining economy through judgement debt




The House of Representatives on Wednesday accused the Justice Minister, Mohammed Bello-Adoke of draining the Nigerian economy through the payments of judgement debt and other legal settlements.

$3 million bribery: Otedola appears before police panel, submits video, audio evidence





Oil magnate and Chairman of Zenon Petroleum, Femi Otedola, on Tuesday stoked his charge against embattled Chairman of the House of Representative ad hoc Committee that investigated the management of fuel subsidy fund, Farouk Lawan, by handing over to the police, audio and video evidence of how the lawmaker got the first installment of the bribe and how he demanded the balance.

The duo first started with Konvict Musik boss Akon where he was featured in the video of their hit song ‘Chop my money’. The twins have now taken their discography a notch higher by featuring one of the hottest international rappers – Miami Hip-hop star Rick Ross.



Euro 2012: Football fans in Warsaw clash




Clashes between rival Russian and Polish football fans in the Polish capital Warsaw have marred a Euro 2012 tie between the two teams.
A march ahead of the match by thousands of Russian fans to mark their national day had to be halted and some missiles were thrown.
Police say they arrested at least 120 people and that 10 people were injured.
A heavy police presence was in evidence around the stadium after the match as further clashes broke out.
